Overview
Warro ("Warro", "the app", "we", "our") is an iOS app for tracking appliance purchase and warranty information. Warro was built on a simple principle: the safest place for your receipts and appliance data is the one place nobody else can reach — your own iPhone. This policy explains, in plain language, what that means in practice.
The short version: Warro does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. There are no user accounts, no analytics SDKs, and no advertising identifiers. Everything you scan or enter is processed and stored on your device.
Information we collect
Warro does not operate any servers and does not collect personal information. We do not know your name, your email address, what appliances you own, or what receipts you've scanned — because none of that ever reaches us.
- No account or sign-up is required or offered, so we never collect a name, email address, or password.
- No analytics or usage tracking is embedded in the app. We do not know how often you open Warro or which features you use.
- No advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA) are accessed or transmitted.
- No crash or diagnostic data is sent to us. If you choose to share diagnostics with Apple, that is governed by Apple's own privacy practices, not Warro's.
How on-device scanning works
When you scan a receipt, warranty card, or serial-number sticker, Warro uses Apple's native VisionKit and Vision frameworks to read the text directly on your iPhone. This recognition happens entirely on-device:
- Images are processed locally to extract details such as purchase date, warranty duration, model number, serial number, and a claim phone number.
- No image, PDF, or extracted text is uploaded to a server — Warro's own or anyone else's — for this processing.
- You always review and can edit extracted fields before anything is saved, so Warro never saves data you haven't confirmed.
On supported iPhones (iOS 26 or later, with Apple Intelligence enabled), Warro can optionally use Apple's on-device Foundation Models to help fill in a purchase date, warranty length, or model number that the primary scan couldn't confidently read. This model runs using Apple's on-device Apple Intelligence framework, entirely on your iPhone — it does not send data to Apple, to Warro, or to any other server. It's never used for phone numbers or serial numbers, and every field it fills in is flagged for you to review before saving, the same as any other low-confidence field.
Where your data lives
Appliance records, property names, and scanned receipt images are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Receipt and document images are written to your device's storage with complete file protection, meaning they're encrypted at rest using your device's passcode/biometric-derived keys, consistent with iOS's strongest file-protection class.
Warro does not sync or back up your data to iCloud or any other cloud service. If you delete the app, this locally stored data is permanently removed from your device along with it, so it's worth keeping your device's own backup (such as an encrypted iTunes/Finder backup) if you want a safety net independent of Warro.
Permissions Warro requests
Warro asks for the following device permissions, each used only for its stated purpose:
- Camera — to scan receipts, warranty documents, and serial-number stickers via the on-device document scanner. Captured images are processed locally as described above.
- Photo Library (optional) — to import an existing photo or PDF of a receipt instead of using the camera.
- Notifications — to schedule local reminders (for example, 30 and 7 days before a warranty expires). These are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device; no notification content is sent through a remote push server.
You can review or revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device's Settings.
Third parties, analytics & ads
Warro does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and does not communicate with any external server or cloud service. We do not share, sell, or rent any information to third parties, for the simple reason that we don't collect any to begin with.
Children's privacy
Warro does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13, because it does not collect personal information from any user. Warro is intended for use by homeowners and property managers and is not directed at children.
Data retention & deletion
Because your data stays on your device, you are always in control of it:
- Delete an individual appliance or property at any time from within the app.
- Delete all Warro data by deleting the app from your device — since nothing is stored anywhere else, this permanently and completely removes it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, note the change here. Continued use of Warro after an update means you accept the revised policy.
